NEW YORK (WABC) -- A chilly start to the week, with sun and clouds on Monday.

A stray sprinkle - or even a high-elevation flurry - isn't out of the question. Overnight lows drop to 38 in the city, with many suburbs even colder.

A widespread hard freeze in the suburbs into early Tuesday morning will kill outdoor plants if left unprotected.

More seasonable spring weather should return by midweek.
