Cook County Jail Gardening Program
Chicago's Cook County Jail has a garden that is entirely taken care of by inmates. They plant, grow and harvest the crops that are then sold to farmer's markets and high-end restaurants around Chicago. Gardening helps the inmates be at peace and learn valuable skills they can later apply to other jobs outside of the jail.
