SEAFORD, New York (WABC) -- Eleven ducklings were freed from a storm drain Sunday afternoon in Seaford.
Residents called Long Island animal rescuer John DeBacker to assist.
The mother duck could be seen nervously pacing back and forth.
The ducklings were scooped up using a net, although the last one kept falling thought, before it was eventually pulled up to safety.
Once all of the ducklings were freed, DeBacker and area residents walked the mother duck and her babies to a nearby canal.
She and the ducklings happily swam away.
