2 dead after fire at abandoned house on Long Island

2 dead after Hempstead fire

HEMPSTEAD, New York (WABC) -- Two people were found dead after second alarm fire broke out at a vacant house boarded up from previous fire on Long Island early Sunday.

Flames broke out at 45 Sycamore Avenue in Hempstead just before 1:28 a.m.

Firefighters from neighboring areas arrived to help Hempstead Fire Department battle the blaze.

Two people were discovered deceased in the house.

Nassau County Fire Marshal investigators and NCPD Arson detectives are investigating the scene.
