Two men posed as delivery workers broke into couple's home, assaulted them: police

STAMFORD, Connecticut (WABC) -- Two men are behind bars in Connecticut and are accused of posing as delivery drivers during a violent home break-in this week.

Police say the men were wearing Amazon-style vests when they forced their way into home on Dunn Avenue on Monday around 11:30 a.m.

Officials say the men knocked on the door and claimed to have a package that required a signature.

When the homeowner accepted the package and tried to close the door, the suspects forced their way inside with a gun, officials say.

Authorities say they pistol-whipped the man and he yelled upstairs to his wife that they were being robbed.

She managed to call 911 before the second suspect grabbed her by the neck, threw her on the bed and put a pillow over her head.

Surveillance video shows them running from the house as police approach. One popped into a nearby pizzeria to ask for a bottle of water.

"He was out of breath and then he was just pacing, and then he was on the phone talking to someone and he basically just took off," a worker said. "I think he was nervous and he took off, he did look in the back of my store for an exit."

The men jumped in a car but were arrested when they hit a roadblock on Bradley Place.

They were identified as 24-year-old Hayes Edmonds and 25-year-old Sam Oduor -- both from Georgia.

The victims were treated for minor injuries and said they are fine, but declined to be interviewed.
