4-alarm fire burns at tire shop in Hawthorne, New Jersey
HAWTHORNE, New Jersey (WABC) -- A major fire was burning Tuesday at a tire shop in Hawthorne, New Jersey, prompting a large emergency response.
A huge plume of smoke could be seen rising into the air as firefighters worked at the scene on Goffle Road.
The fire burned through the roof of the building and was upgraded to a fourth alarm, bringing additional resources to the response.
Firefighters were operating from outside the building as they worked to knock down the flames.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
