4 hospitalized in Bronx accident involving backhoe

PELHAM BAY, Bronx (WABC) -- Several people were hurt in an accident involving a backhoe in the Bronx.

The FDNY says the crash happened just before 7 p.m. Sunday on the Bruckner Expressway near the exit for Country Club Road.

Rescuers took four people to the hospital. One of them is in critical condition - the others are in serious condition.

According to police sources, one person was arrested for charges of driving while intoxicated.
