HOLMDEL, New Jersey (WABC) -- A mail carrier in New Jersey turned a family's Christmas story about a trip to the North Pole into a children's book.
But the postman's publication went missing, so he turned to 7 On Your Side to deliver.
Two decades after his book idea, "I believe! I believe!' Raymond Dlug put pen to paper and his book was released last summer.
The first-time author paid for his books to be printed and shipped through Amazon, but 1,000 copies of his book vanished in North Carolina.
"We showed them the paperwork that they signed off on and then they said after months of battling about that, they said that they had no idea how many were lost or how much to reimburse us for and I'm like how many can you find? And they're like none," his wife Patty Dlug said.
They not only didn't sell any books from the holidays, he's also out of the $13,000 invested in publishing.
7 On Your Side contacted the online seller and the Dlugs were refunded over $12,000.
"We got our Christmas miracle thanks to you!" Patty said.
Amazon told Eyewitness News they were happy to resolve this directly with the seller.
"Our selling partners are incredibly important to Amazon and our customers, and we work hard to protect and help them grow their businesses. If a seller believes we have made an error, we have an appeal process in place, and they can contact us directly. Our Seller Support team is available 24/7 via email, phone, and chat, and we strive to respond to and resolve every contact as quickly as possible. We have directly resolved this matter with the seller," the statement said.
Raymond's book is now listed and for sale on Amazon.
