

BAYCHESTER, The Bronx (WABC) -- Four people were shot and one person was killed after an apparent car meetup early Sunday in the Baychester section of the Bronx.
The gunfire broke out during the street takeover at East 233rd Street and Boston Road at 5:40 a.m.
Police believe multiple people opened fire and dozens of shots, as many as 60, were fired at the scene.
An 18-year-old man, later identified as Werling Mendez, was shot in the head and died.
Additionally, a 20-year-old woman was shot int he foot and a 22-year-old man was shot in the chest.
Both victims were taken to the hospital where they were said to be stable.
Police were later informed that a 25-year-old woman was shot in the left foot and was taken to BronxCare Health System.
She was bringing slushies to a nearby business when she was shot. Her wallet and gold chain were stolen.
Additionally, a 37-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint by three men who put a gun to her head and stole her phone and chain.
The suspects got away in an Acura, police said.
No arrests were immediately made.
