Coney Island beachgoers soaking it in before school starts

CONEY ISLAND, Brooklyn (WABC) -- People in Coney Island are soaking up the last bit of summer, as school starts for students in New York City this week.

Kids were enjoying their time outside before trading in beach towels for books.

There was music, food games - and the weather was picture-perfect at the beach.

The South Brooklyn beach and boardwalk were packed with people who could not get enough of the warm-weather thrills.

While it is Labor Day weekend, summer is not over, especially for those who are young at heart.
