LONG VALLEY, New Jersey (WABC) -- A deck collapsed last weekend in New Jersey injuring seven people.
It happened on Sunday, June 14 in Long Valley.
Long Valley First Aid Squad and firefighters responded to the scene and found a large deck had fallen off the house and onto a tree.
Schooley's Mountain Fire Co. 3 members shored up the deck while EMS assisted and helped to free trapped and injured victims.
Firefighters also had to secure a gas leak.
The seven injured people were rushed to Morristown Medical Center with non-life threating injuries.
LVFAS said that the deck had been built under older codes and a lot has changed in building construction over the years.
"We are thankful that those affected by this incident will recover quickly and there was no loss of life," the squad said in a statement on social media.
