NEW YORK (WABC) -- The introduction of the new lawyer representing the family of Eric Garner came Saturday at the National Action Network's weekly rally in Harlem.

Civil Rights Attorney Jonathan Moore replaces the flamboyant Sanford Rubenstein, currently embroiled in his own legal battle. Rubenstein is being investigated - though not arrested or charged in the sexual assault of a female leader in Reverend Al Sharpton's organization.

"This is not about nobody but Eric and justice," said Rev. Sharpton.

Both Sharpton and the Garners insisted Saturday that the change was in the best interest of the case. The family said it was a difficult decision to make.

"I hope they don't take it personal, because it's not personal, it's business," said Eric Garner's mother, Gwen Carr, "we're trying to get justice."

Eric's wife, Esaw Garner said that she doesn't want her sons to fall victim to the same thing as their father.

"I have two sons that have to be raised in New York City," says Esaw.

Eric Garner died in July on Staten Island after being placed in an apparent police chokehold by an NYPD officer. The incident was caught on tape. The family's new attorney said that this case is about even more than justice.

"In the memory of Eric Garner, we need to do more than just get justice for the family - we have to make sure this never happens again," says Moore.
