MORNINGSIDE HEIGHTS (WABC) -- A public memorial was held in Manhattan Thursday night, honoring the life and legacy of one of Harlem's political icons, Basil Paterson.
Governor Andrew Cuomo, former New York City Mayor David Dinkins, and Harlem Congressman Charles Rangel were among those attending the service at Riverside Church.
The father of former New York Governor David Paterson died in April at age 87.
He was a state senator, deputy mayor, and member of Harlem's so-called 'Gang of Four'.
