Lightning strikes spire of One World Trade twice during Monday storms

LOWER MANHATTAN (WABC) -- It's like the old saying - lightning doesn't strike the same place twice...

Except when it does.

Photos posted to Twitter on Monday show huge lightning bolts striking the spire of One World Trade in Lower Manhattan not once - but twice, as thunderstorms rolled through the Tri-State Area.

Monday's severe weather was packed with strong winds caused damage and power outages throughout the region.
