2 people charged with stealing $2.8 million from missing couple

LONG ISLAND, New York (WABC) -- Two people have been charged with stealing millions of dollars from of a couple from Long Island, who have been missing for several months.

Photos show a 56-year-old woman, Qiuju Wu, and a 36-year-old man, Yinye Wang. They are the two people accused of stealing $2.8 million from the bank accounts of an Old Brookville couple.

Wu, who resides in Flushing, Queens, was arrested in Texas last Thursday and is now in ICE custody.

Wang, who has residences in College Point and Roslyn, was arrested in California and is now out on bail.

The two will appear in federal court in Central Islip at a later date.

The missing couple, 48-year-old Peishuan Fan and 44-year-old JuanJuan Zwang, disappeared from their home in Old Brookville in March.

Their whereabouts are unknown, and their two sons have since returned to China.

Investigators haven't released information on how the suspects are linked to the couple.
