3 dead after news helicopter crashes near site of deadly Los Angeles bus collision
LOS ANGELES -- A news helicopter crashed and burst into flames near the scene of a deadly bus collision in Los Angeles on Tuesday evening. At least three people are dead.
One person on the ground was killed in the helicopter crash in the 9100 block of Mason Avenue in Chatsworth, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. The LAFD later said a total of three people died in the crash and one person was hospitalized in unknown condition.
Authorities said it was unknown how many people were aboard the helicopter. It was also unclear whether anyone from the helicopter was transported to a hospital.
The crash occurred near the scene of a large bus crash that left at least two people dead.
Firefighters said the helicopter was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived.
An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
