Man dies after being stabbed in the back in Chinatown

CHINATOWN, Manhattan (WABC) -- A man has died after he was stabbed in the back in Chinatown.

It happened just before 4 p.m. Saturday along Eldridge Street.

At first, officials said the 69-year-old victim was in stable condition, but he later died at Bellevue Hospital.

A person of interest was taken into custody.

There is no word yet on a motive for the attack.
