Man killed, 2 women hurt after truck hits pedestrians in Chinatown
MANHATTAN (WABC) -- Three people, two women and a man, were struck by a truck in Chinatown.
It happened at Canal and Bowery around 10:20 a.m. on Thursday.
A Chevrolet truck driven by a 66-year-old manwas attempting to make a right turn onto Bowery Street when it mounted the sidewalk and struck three people.
The vehicle continued toward Hester Street where it hit a sedan before coming to a stop.
A 77-year-old man died from his injuries. The two women are hospitalized in stable condition.
The driver of the truck was taken into custody by police.
The crash is under investigation.
The identities of those involved have not yet been released.
