Man vanishes while swimming in waters off Far Rockaway

FAR ROCKAWAY, Queens (WABC) -- A 22-year-old man vanished as he was swimming in the water off Far Rockaway.

It happened Saturday just after 6 p.m. near Beach 20th Street.

The NYPD launched drones to search for the man as a scuba team entered the water.

Searchers returned to the scene on Sunday but have not located the man.
