NEW YORK CITY (WABC) -- Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced that a batch of heavily discounted U.S. Open tickets will go on sale on Wednesday.
Mamdani and the U.S. Tennis Association say they've secured 1,000 tickets that will cost just $100.
The mayor joked they will be 'first come, first served,' but was serious when he said too many New Yorkers are getting priced out of all of the fun.
The tickets are for matches and grounds passes between August 30 and September 8.
Only New York City residents with certified zip codes are eligible to buy the discounted tickets.
"If the world's best tennis players are coming to our city, New Yorkers should be able to see them play," Mamdani said.
They will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at USOpen.org/NYCTickets.
