NEW JERSEY (WABC) -- New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy delivered his final State of the State address on Tuesday afternoon.
Murphy's speech looked back on his achievements during his two terms as governor.
His last day in office will be Jan. 20, the same day his successor, Mikie Sherrill, will be sworn in.
"We proved that when we live by our Jersey values, our state government can serve the needs of working people first and foremost. And it is thanks to everything that we have accomplished over these past 8 years that today we are a state brimming with opportunity for all.
Murphy acknowledged there is still work to be done and that many families are struggling with affordability.
He praised his successor, calling Governor-elect Mikie Sherrill a "superhero waiting in the wings."
