NEW YORK (WABC) -- Labor Day marks the unofficial end of summer and residents across the Tri-State are soaking in the last bits of the season on Monday.
From the beach to parades and more, those in New York and New Jersey alike had picture-perfect weather to celebrate the day.
Down at the Jersey Shore, crowds took advantage of the picture-perfect weather and gave businesses a big boost on the final holiday weekend of the season.
Beachgoers in Asbury Park had a beautiful day to enjoy the sand, sun and boardwalk.
Many said they were sad to see summer come to an end.
"I'm sad but I'm a local and this is the beginning of local summer and I can't wait, but it's been a good summer and there is so much going on and there still will be," one beachgoer told Eyewitness News.
The beaches in Coney Island were also busy on Monday as New Yorkers closed out the summer of 2025 in style.
And the boardwalk was full of kids and kids at heart playing games and enjoying the rides and food.
"It's always been one of my favorite summer homes away from home, closest thing to ever going to Disney World," Manhattan resident Robert Nunez said.

Also over in Brooklyn, The New York Carnival, one of the city's biggest summer festivals, returned for its 58th anniversary in a celebration of Caribbean pride, culture and creativity.
Meanwhile in South Plainfield, Americana and patriotism took front and center stage for the town's 66th annual Labor Day parade.
This year's theme was Superheroes and Villains as it celebrated popular comic books and real-life community heroes.
It featured Girl Scouts, bagpipes, Batman and the Batmobile and even the DeLorean best known from "Back to the Future."
