NEW YORK (WABC) -- There was an alarming outbreak of gun violence in New York City this weekend after a total of 10 people were shot in six separate shootings.
The shootings, which police say were unrelated, all happened early Saturday night into early Sunday morning.
Two of the victims died, including a 23-year-old man gunned down in Cypress Hills around 2:30 a.m. Sunday and a 45-year-old man shot around 9 p.m. Saturday in Sunset Park.
Overnight, police said they arrested a man from Florida in connection to the Sunset Park shooting. He was arrested on a charge of murder.

The other shootings include a triple shooting in the East Tremont section of the Bronx around 1 a.m. Sunday that left two women and a man wounded.
Additionally a woman was shot on the boardwalk in Far Rockaway, a man and woman were shot in Bushwick and two men were shot in East Flatbush.
The shootings followed a dramatic Friday night in the middle of Times Square when a fight between alleged gang members led to gunfire and three people shot. Two of the victims were innocent bystanders in the Crossroads of the World.
In that case, a judge ordered the 17-year-old suspect held on $200,000 bail.
The violent night came just a few days after the mayor pointed to the drop of more than 20% in shootings and homicides this summer.
Through the end of July, New York City saw the lowest number of shootings and shooting victims on record for the first seven months of the year.

Even as busy as the weekend was, police say the city saw one fewer shooting than the same weekend last year.
"Shootings are down in record numbers, but when you have a high profile event, it's frustrating because we don't want to paint a picture of all of NYC," said NYPD Chief of Department John Chell.
It is not yet clear if any of the survivors of the violence were innocent bystanders.
