NEW YORK (WABC) -- A pair of police detectives were able to push through rush hour traffic to get a woman in advanced labor to the hospital, just in time.
NYPD Detectives Davila and Martinez had just finished their CrimeStoppers post in the 60th precinct.
They were headed back to police headquarters when they were flagged down by a frantic father and his very pregnant daughter.
She was in active labor along the Brooklyn Queens Expressway.
They begged the detectives to rush her to NY Presbyterian Hospital on the Upper East Side, where the hospital was awaiting her arrival.
The officers battled rush hour traffic to get the woman to the hospital, just before giving birth.
The two officers are both parents and wanted to ensure a healthy delivery for both mom and baby.
