NYRR's New Balance 5th Avenue Mile to feature Olympians and Broadway stars
NEW YORK (WABC) -- The New York Road Runners will host over 8,600 runners in an upcoming one-mile race down Manhattan's most famous thoroughfare.
The 45th edition of the New Balance 5th Avenue Mile will feature 15 Olympians and 18 international medalists representing 12 different countries on Sept. 13.
Leonard Bett, Olli Hoare, Luke Houser, Simon Koech, Stefan Nillessen and Adam Spencer will headline the one-mile road race men's field.
Olympic medalist Courtney Frerichs will join stars Melissa Courtney-Bryant, Elise Cranny, Kayley DeLay, Susan Ejore-Sanders, Heather MacLean and Jemma Reekie for the women's race.
After its 2025 debut, the Broadway Mile will return with more than 100 theater professionals running to support Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Tony Award-winning actors Ali Louis Bourzgui and Nikki James will join Jordan Fisher, Keri Rene Fuller, Jeremy Kushnier and more.
The one-mile race will also include the Back to School Mile for children ages 2-18. Other specialty heats include the NYPD and FDNY mile for service members and the Media Mile for journalists.
Watch the New Balance 5th Avenue Mile live on WABC-TV and Channel 7 from noon to 1 p.m. ET, and it will be available for streaming nationally on ESPN+.
