NEW YORK (WABC) -- Wednesday marks the 29th anniversary of the last crash at LaGuardia, one that was similar to Sunday night's tragedy.
On March 25, 1997, the radio tower cleared a 22-seat jet for landing, and also gave the go-ahead to a maintenance truck working on runway lights.
The plane hit the truck and sustained significant damage, but everyone on board was fine.
The truck actually broke down.
Two electricians who'd been inside ran when they saw the plane approaching.

Even more of a coincidence. the last deadly crash at LaGuardia was 34 years ago to the day of Sunday's incident.
A U.S. Air flight crashed while trying to take off in poor weather on March 22, 1992.
It veered off the runway, hitting several objects and coming to a rest in Flushing Bay.
Twenty-seven people on board were killed.
