Power problems reported at American Dream in NJ, guests evacuated from park rides

EAST RUTHERFORD (WABC) -- Power outages have been reported at the American Dream in New Jersey, officials said.

A localized power outage caused some areas of the center to be without power.

Most stores are closed because they do not have power.

Only emergency lights are on inside, and the restaurants had to close.

A utility company is working to restore service, officials said.

"All guests were safely evacuated from park rides," a statement from the American Dream said.

The mall section is not officially closed, but new vehicles are not allowed inside the parking garage.
