6 people hurt after fast-moving fire breaks out in Queens

SUNNYSIDE, Queens (WABC) -- At least six people were injured, including five fighters, during a fire in Queens on Tuesday.

The fire started around 8:45 p.m. at 45-55 40th St. between Queens Boulevard and 47th Avenue in Sunnyside.

FDNY officials say the fire was reported on the third floor of the location.

Twelve units with 60 fire and EMS personnel responded to the fire.

Officials say there were six injuries in total. EMS treated and transported one civilian to Elmhurst Hospital, and five firefighters were all taken to Mount Sinai Queens.

There's no word yet on their conditions.

The fire was placed under control just after 9:30 p.m., and Fire Marshals are now investigating the cause.
