Person pulled to safety following rescue on Queensboro Bridge: FDNY

NEW YORK CITY (WABC) -- A person has been pulled to safety after falling down a shaft at the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge on Monday, according to FDNY officials.

FDNY officials say they received a report of a person down a shaft just before 9 p.m. at the Manhattan-bound lower level of the bridge.

Citizen App video appeared to show crews trying to help the person.

The FDNY and NYPD worked together with ropes to pull the victim out of one of the bridge stanchions.

The victim is in the care of EMS.

No further details have been provided.
