Resorts World casino in Queens expands to live table games
OZONE PARK, Queens (WABC) -- The Resorts World New York City casino in Ozone Park is now expanding to live table games, setting a new precedent.
Resorts World New York City is located next to the Aqueduct Racetrack. Its expansion features more than 240 table games like blackjack, craps and roulette, and includes more than 2,500 slot machines.
Casino owners say that over 1,200 new jobs have been created, including 950 new table-game dealers. The casino plans to have more than 2,700 employees by summer.
Resorts World was one of the first three casinos to get a full commercial license in New York City.
The ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony will be held at 9:30 a.m.
This is the first commercial casino to open in the 400-year history of New York City.
The other two are Hard Rock Metropolitan Park at Citi Field, and Bally's in the Bronx, which will open on the property of President Donald Trump's former golf course at Ferry Point.
The other two casinos will be entirely new complexes which will take years to build and open.
