
RIDGEWOOD, New Jersey (WABC) -- A 7-year-old boy was bitten on the upper leg over the weekend by a raccoon by Ridgewood police in New Jersey.
It happened near Maple Field & Community Garden around 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Ridgewood police received another report Sunday afternoon about a "sick-looking racoon crossing Meadowbrook Avenue."
Police did not release information about the boy's condition. Animal Control was notified.
Residents are being told not to feed, approach or handle wild animals.
They should also supervise their kids outside, keep pets on a leash and report animals acting strange or aggressive.
