NEW YORK, NY (WABC) -- The NYPIRG Straphangers Campaign announced their 16th annual State of the Subways Report Card Wednesday, rating the No. 7 train as the best of 19 subway lines.

The worst line, according to the report, is the No. 2 line.

The lines are given a so-called MetroCard Rating for their performance, and the 7 train was given a $2.00 rating. The bottom-rated 2 train earned just a $1.30 value.

The report card is based on an extensive review of official transit data on six measures of subway service.

The measures are the amount of scheduled service, the regularity of train arrivals, mechanical failures of subway cars, chance of getting a seat at the most congested point during rush hour, cleanliness of subway cars and clarity of in-car announcements.

The 7 was rated the best line for the first time since 2010. The 2 has been rated worst only once before, in 2011.

The 2, 5, 6, E and Q lines had a perfect performance for accurate and understandable announcements made in subway cars.

The C and J/Z lines were named the cleanest, and your best chance of getting a seat is on the R train in Queens.
