LONG ISLAND (WABC) -- Two teens on Long Island are facing charges after allegedly threatening drivers in separate road rage incidents.
Police in Bayville say the pair was caught on video trying to smash two different vehicles with a baseball bat and a lacrosse stick.
A 25-year-old described the terrifying moments as she was driving alone on Bayville Avenue on Monday night.
She said the car stopped and the young driver aggressively got out. She drove away.
"Because of her quick thinking, he was only able to punch her rear back window of her car," her mother said.
Several hours earlier at Stehli Beach, a 38-year-old observed two teen boys throwing garbage on the ground in the parking lot.
Nassau Police say when the driver questioned them, one started swinging a lacrosse stick and the other swung a baseball bat, striking the victim's car.
Bayville is a small waterfront village with under 7,000 residents and is known more for its sunsets than violent crime.
Police arrested the two teens after dashcam videos identified them and their car.
"These are 16 and 17-year-old kids and this is how they're thinking. No fear of recourse. And just to get out and swing a bat at somebody and just walk away. Like nothing happened? That's the scary part," Bayville resident Larry O'Connell said.
