NEW YORK (WABC) -- A fast-moving storm blanketed the region with snow on Saturday night.
The snow shifted to ice and freezing rain making roads treacherous in parts of New Jersey.
Anthony Johnson was in Ramsey, where drivers had trouble on the roads:
Snowfall totals from Saturday night's winter storm ranged from a couple of inches to as much as 6 inches across the Tri-State.
Central Park reported 3.1 inches of snow. Sandy Hook, Connecticut had the highest total with 6.1 inches. Long Island also reported some of the highest totals including 5.1 inches in Muttontown and 5 inches in Commack and Hauppauge.
Meanwhile, a Travel Advisory was issued in New York City overnight Saturday into Sunday.
"Our city agencies are ready to answer the call and keep New Yorkers safe as we expect freezing temperatures and snowfall this weekend," said New York City Mayor Eric Adams.
Thousands of DSNY staff worked to spread salt and plow snow-covered streets. More than 700 salt spreaders were filled and ready to go before the storm.
The snow, however, didn't stop people from strolling through Manhattan on Saturday night. Local shops worked to clean piles of snow off their store awnings while city crews shoveled the popular red stairs in Times Square.
Over in Central Park, pet owner Jeff Coe tells Eyewitness News that Sunday will be nothing but fun for him and his furry friend.
"I love it out here. I got my dog out, we're enjoying ourselves in the snow. He's rolling around, he's bounding," Coe said. "Actually, he's adopted from Russia believe it or not, so he is used to the cold weather. He's a rescue from Russia so he loves the cold weather."
The storm train keeps on rolling right into next week with snow likely on Tuesday afternoon and night and a wintry mix going to rain on Thursday.
