Woman found dead in plastic bag in East Harlem
EAST HARLEM, New York (WABC) -- Police are investigating after a woman was found dead inside a plastic bag in East Harlem on Monday.
MTA Police contacted the NYPD after the woman was found on the sidewalk at East 124th Street and Park Avenue shortly after 6:30 p.m.
A man looking for bottles for recycling made the gruesome discovery. He apparently felt the bag and realized there was a body inside.
EMS responded and pronounced the unidentified woman dead at the scene.
The victim appears to be in her 20s.
The woman was naked and had blood on her head, but the Medical Examiner's Office will determine her cause and manner of death.
