NORTH BERGEN, N.J. (WABC) -- A woman was tied up and robbed of thousands in a North Bergen apartment building Tuesday morning.
Just before 11 a.m., police received a call about a robbery at an apartment building. The victim, 54, who wanted to remain anonymous because of safety concerns, told police that two men with guns entered the office and demanded cash.
She said she told them, "I have some money that I was going to the bank and deposit, and I could give you that and some extra cash I keep with me."
They forced her into her residence, which is next to the office, and tied her up.
"They took laces from my sneakers and they tied ... my feet and my hands," she said.
Then they took about $3,000 to $4,000 and fled north on Kennedy Boulevard in a dark-colored, new model Honda Accord, according to the North Bergen Police Department.
The men took the hard drive for the surveillance cameras with them, but police said they left fingerprints behind. The two wore ski masks.
