MASSAPEQUA, Long Island (WABC) -- The power went out Saturday morning at the Sunrise Mall on Long Island.
According to PSEG, around 11:45 a.m., a power outage sparked by an animal hitting an electrical substation near the Massapequa mall left a couple thousand electrical customers and the mall without power.
The power was restored to all by 12:30 p.m.
More than 2,000 customers, including the mall, were without power for 4 minutes; 869 customers were without power for 36 minutes; and three customers were without power for 48 minutes, according to PSEG.
One witness said shoppers seemed unfazed and continued shopping in the dark.
