Vehicle strikes hydrant on Route 17 in Paramus

PARAMUS (WABC) -- New Jersey commuters experienced heavy delays Friday after a vehicle struck a hydrant in Paramus.

The accident happened near Ridgewood Ave on Route 17, and caused major flooding.

Cars were backed up for 8 miles, and lanes were closed during the height of the evening commute.
