SADDLE BROOK, New Jersey (WABC) -- A pedestrian was fatally struck by a car in the parking lot of a New Jersey shopping center Thursday.
It happened around noon on Market Street, near the intersection of 5th Street, in Saddle Brook.
Authorities say an elderly female driver struck a man in his 80s and then plowed into a brick pillar outside one of the buildings.
The victim was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Saddle Brook police Chief Robert Kugler declined to identify the victim, pending family notification.
The cause of the accident is under investigation, and the elderly woman was being questioned.
