WOODLAND HILLS, LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Police Department Topanga Division held a car wash fundraiser in Woodland Hills on Monday to help a little boy get an autism service dog.
Sebastian is turning 6 years old. He's high-functioning, but he has difficulties with sensory processing. That means, for instance, he might not realize if he's hurting himself.
A companion dog would help with that and much more.
"This is amazing," said Sebastian's mother, Kimberly Bordonaro. "We're really fortunate, number one, to have this community with Topanga Division of LAPD."
Little Sebastian also shared his appreciation, calling officers his "best friends."
"We have the same bracelet, and I want to say on the news that we're best friends," he said.
They need to raise $26,000 for the dog.
If you'd like to help, contact the Topanga Division at (818) 756-4800.
