NEW YORK -- This weekend (October 11 and 12), tour the city and meet the people who design, build and preserve New York!
Open House New York (OHNY) presents the 12th Annual OHNY Weekend, a once-a-year, open invitation to the public to discover, explore, and experience some of most significant and interesting buildings and places - ranging from the historic to the contemporary-throughout the five boroughs of New York City.
During the course of a single weekend, OHNY offers more than 300 different ways to appreciate New York's architecture and design through site visits - opening doors to places generally off-limits to the public-tours, talks, and other special programs.
In addition, OHNY Weekend offers the public an exceptional opportunity to meet and engage with architects, designers, engineers, urban planners, curators, and educators who contribute to making New York such an exciting and dynamic place to live, work, and visit.
"OHNY Weekend is a reminder of the visceral power of experience, and how the act of discovering a great building or interior can transform us," says Gregory Wessner, executive director of OHNY. "With this year's broad selection of offerings, it is our hope that we can inform, inspire, and instill an appreciation for New York's built and natural environment to all who participate in OHNY Weekend."
