All-Star point guard Ja Morant has been ruled out of Wednesday's game against the Brooklyn Nets due to right knee soreness, the Memphis Grizzlies announced.

It will be the second consecutive game Morant misses because of his sore right knee. He also sat out a win over the Indiana Pacers last week because of back soreness.

Morant has played his way into MVP and All-NBA discussions this season during his third NBA season. He is averaging 27.6 points, 5.7 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game for the Grizzlies, who are second in the Western Conference standings.

However, Memphis has had success when forced to play without its superstar this season. The Grizzlies are 14-2 in games missed by Morant.
