Does Alex Rodriguez, whose time in pinstripes will come to an end Friday, deserve a spot in Monument Park, an honor considered sacred among fans of the New York Yankees?

Owner Hal Steinbrenner, for one, would not rule it out. A-Rod, after all, helped deliver a championship to the Bronx in 2009 and is among the team's all-time leaders in homers (sixth), RBIs (11th) and hits (17th). And that's not to mention those two American League MVPs he won over his 11-plus seasons with the club.

Of course, his stint in New York also included a year-long suspension from baseball for performance-enhancing drugs and a number of disagreements with the club.

The numbers put him with Yankee royalty, but does he deserve to be honored? Share your thoughts in the poll below.

On Sunday, the Yankees announced that this would be Rodriguez's last week as a player on the team.
