Grocery store employee accused of exposing self to 2 girls at Stop & Shop

GLEN COVE, N.Y. (WABC) -- A Glen Cove man has been arrested, accused of exposing himself to two little girls shopping with her mother at a grocery store.



According to the Nassau County Police Department, around 7 p.m. on Nov. 24 at the Stop & Shop on Forest Avenue in Glen Cove, two girls, ages 5 and 7, who were in an aisle near their mother were approached by a man. Police said that Edward Ramirez, 43, a Stop & Shop stock clerk in the store exposed himself to the 7-year-old while looking directly at her.



When she ran to tell her mother what happened, police said Ramirez then exposed himself to the 5-year-old and forced her to touch him. She also ran away.



Following an investigation, Ramirez was arrested on Dec. 9.



He has been charged with first-degree sexual abuse, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.



He is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.
