Teens struck by NJ Transit train

ROCKLAND COUNTY Authorities say the two 15-year-old boys were walking on the track when they were struck on the tracks between Nanuet and Spring Valley.

Both victims are Nanuet residents. They were reportedly walking north to Spring Valley when they were struck from behind by the northbound train.

One victim is in Nyack Hospital and the other is at the medical center in Valhalla.

Authorities say the incident happened just after 6 p.m.

It stalled rail traffic on the Pascack Valley and also stopped traffic both ways on the New York State Thruway.

A NJ Transit Web site advisory said passengers were being bused between the two stations.
