TLC looks to simplify taxi availability lights

If you've ever tried to flag down a cab but couldn't figure out if the lights on top meant it was open, you're not alone in your confusion.

Now, there's a plan to simplify things.

The Taxi and Limousine Commission is considering a move to a single light system that would get rid of those smaller off-duty lights, which are baffling to many.

The single light would simplify things. If illuminated, the cab is available. If not, it isn't.
