Surveillance video released in Lower Manhattan sex assault

NEW YORK

Police say the man sexually assaulted a woman at gunpoint over the weekend. The incident happened around 2 a.m. Saturday on East 27th Street in Kips Bay as the 28-year-old victim was walking her dog.

First, the man tried to rob her. But when she said she didn't have money or a cell phone, the suspect groped her before fleeing the scene.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6-feet tall, heavyset with a bald head. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt with a bubble vest.
