At least a dozen vehicles were involved in a pileup Sunday morning along an icy stretch of the Staten Island Expressway.

Two of the vehicles were tractor-trailers. There is no word on whether anyone was injured.

All eastbound lanes of the Staten Island Expressway were closed at 9:48 a.m. between Hyland Boulevard and Fingerboard Road following the accident.

Crews from the New York City Sanitation Department were called in to de-ice the road surface, and the roadway was re-opened by 11 a.m.
