Man shot several times while riding bicycle in the East Village

EAST VILLAGE, Manhattan (WABC) -- A bicyclist was shot several times in the East Village early Monday.

The 29-year-old victim was struck while riding his bicycle on Avenue C just before 1 a.m.

He was shot in the torso and right arm, but managed to get himself to the hospital, where he is in critical condition.

No arrests were immediately made and the motive for the shooting is not clear
