Man shot in Meatpacking District after fender bender, police say

MEATPACKING DISTRICT, Manhattan (WABC) -- A man was shot after getting into a fender bender in the Meatpacking District.

The 27-year-old man crashed into another vehicle at Gansevoort Street and Hudson Street just after 4 a.m. Tuesday.

The man had just left a nearby club when he got into the minor crash. He got out of his vehicle, and a person in the other vehicle opened fire on him, according to the New York City Police Department.

The victim was shot in the right arm and right hip. He drove to West 14th and Washington streets, where he called police.

He was taken to Bellevue Hospital, police said. He is expected to survive.

The suspect fled in a grey minivan. He is described as a black male with a beard, a thin build, wearing a fitted cap and a long dark jacket.
